Not a guy but rather two guys, Lewis Del Mar is a New York-based electro-acoustic indie pop duo made up of Washington, D.C. transplants Danny Miller (singer/guitarist) and Max Harwood (drummer/producer). Having collaborated on and off since grade school, they formed the group in 2013 after relocating to Rockaway Beach, and named the project after their fathers (both named Lewis) and their coastal locale. Melodic and percussion-driven, and incorporating samples and manipulated sound, their sleek debut single, “Loud(y),” went viral in 2015, topping Hype Machine’s Popular Tracks chart and appearing on multiple streaming charts. Sony Music released their four-track debut EP in early 2016. By the summer, “Loud(y)” had landed on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, and another song from the EP, “Malt Liquor” hit the streaming charts. Their full-length debut, Lewis Del Mar, arrived in October 2016 and included those two songs plus eight previously unreleased tracks.
