Kansas City’s Dylan Guthrie & The Good Time Guys are an intriguing blend of influences and complexity: soul at heart, with an alternative D.I.Y. sensibility with a taste for classic rock and garage aesthetics. Dylan Guthrie & The Good Time Guys was officially founded in December 2016 after Olie Bowden (bass/vocals) and Dylan Guthrie (guitar/vocals) were kicked out of Dali, Yunnan in China for playing music without at a bar operated by the local chapter of the Chinese mafia without the proper visa. Upon their return to the Midwest they swiftly called upon Lucas Parker (guitar/vocals), Alex Hartmann (drums/percussion), Vik Govindarajan (keys/vocals), and Cody Stuber (drums/percussion/vocals) to meld a band that sets out to fuse sounds from the 60’s/70’s with modern subject matter, tight vocal harmonies, and plenty of tambourine. Their forthcoming LP is scheduled to be released in 2017.
